SF Express Starts B747 Direct Service Between Europe and China

2019.10.17
  • On 15th September 2019, SF Express started a direct service between Europe and Mainland China, operated by its own air fleet subsidiary SF Airlines. Flying 3 times per week, we are using a full B747- 400ERF freighter aircraft routed between Wuxi (WUX) via Chongquing (CKG) to Hahn (HHN) and back to Wuxi. The flight forms part of a wider development plan to upgrade our Europe – China network capabilities.

Loading 100 tons per flight, the Europe outbound expansion will focus on general freight for the automotive, spare parts, heavy machinery, chemicals, 3C and the Express markets to China. To support the final mile delivery, we are offering bonded road feeder services to many metropolitan areas – especially for customers who prefer to do their own customs clearance in China. At the same time we are offering our complete China wide final mile delivery network to our Express clients along side dedicated E-commerce customs clearance channels. For added convenience we are also releasing ULD containers to our customers in Frankfurt to make their own consolidation as required.

Not limited to general cargo, we are loading Class 9 dangerous DG cargo, and we have the flexibility to transport outsized and overweight cargo such as helicopters, vehicles and semi heavy machinery on this unique "Nose Door equipped" airplane.

For China-Europe clients, we are currently ULD containers carrying Europe inbound cargo for 3C customers with final mile delivery throughout mainland Europe.

All-in-all we expect this service will form one of a variety of network strengthening development for SF Express in Europe over the coming year.
