Operational Update on Export Control and Sanction Compliance for Shipments

2024.10.11
  • Dear Customers,

In compliance with U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control Regulations (OFAC), the U.S. Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR) and internal Compliance policies, SF Express/KEX is required to ensure that our logistics operations fully adhere to these rules. As a result, we are implementing updates to our processes for handling shipments flagged under export control or sanctions.

Shipments involving controlled items and sanctioned entities or individuals will be unable to proceed with the shipment and will return the package to you.

In cases where the provided ECCN is incorrect or in an invalid format, we will need your cooperation to update it with the correct information before we can proceed with the shipment.

Additionally, if a shipment is flagged for further internal investigation due to export control concerns, we will reach out to you via email to request additional documentation. During this process, the shipment will be held in our warehouse until a decision can be made. Once we receive the necessary information, we will complete our review and determine whether the shipment can proceed within 2 business days. Please note that delays may occur during this process due to the time needed for information gathering. If we did not receive the requested information from you in 12 calendar days, we’ll be returning the shipment to you.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we work together to ensure full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Best regards,
    SF KEX
